This Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editor couldn't be happier with this recipe! I quadrupled it for my family. It was easily made with what I had on hand, full of flavor and transported us back to the good old days of church suppers and the like. I added a slight bit of local white wine to the mix otherwise, this was perfect. I used a Mexican cheese blend, too. I made it in steps since I couldn't do it all at once. This one is a keeper! Simple and satisfying, I'll be making this again soon.

Perfect for two is right on. It goes together very quickly. Bake time is just about right. After removing the foil I upped the temperature to 375 for the last 10 minutes. I added a small salad to round out the meal. Servings are ample and filling. Next time I'd add just a drop of Mustard to the cheese sauce. Looking for easy this one will fit the bill. Happy to endorse this one.Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editor

Yummy! Great way to use up leftovers. First time I made it with thin-sliced deli ham. I'll be using regular baked ham next time but will likely slice it for layering just as a preference. Thanks for the newsflash, sstrunck, not a meal for everyday consumption so adjust ingredients as necessary.

I rarely follow a recipe exactly. So, I lightened this recipe by using a lite cheese sauce recipe (no butter, low fat cheddar, 1% milk). To me, 3 things make this recipe - no canned soup, a little kick in the spices, and the touch of sherry!

I made this for Christmas dinner for me and my husband. I heated up some carrots and peas and it was perfect. We had leftovers for the next day too.
