No-Bake Christmas Wreath Treats
Total TimePrep: 20 min. + standing Cook: 5 min.
- 20 large marshmallows
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Green food coloring
- 3 cups cornflakes
- Red M&M's minis (about 2 tablespoons)
- Place marshmallows and butter in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave, uncovered, on high until butter is melted and marshmallows are puffed, about 45 seconds. Tint green with food coloring. Stir in cornflakes.
- On a waxed paper-lined baking sheet, divide mixture into eight portions. Working quickly, shape each into a 3-in. wreath using buttered hands. Decorate immediately with M&M's, pressing to adhere. Let stand until set.

I've been making these since the 1970's, but I drop them onto parchment without making a hole in the center, add the red hots, and they look like wreaths. Wouldn't be Christmas without them!

Definitely won't make these again. Way to messy, hard to shape, everything sticks to your hands, spoons, whatever you are using. I thought they would be cute for a party. If there's a secret to doing these, please let me know.

I've been making this for over 40 years. However, I gave up making wreaths almost that many years ago. Just drop on waxed paper and somewhat make holly leaves with red hots dropped in the center. Much less messy that way.

love this recipe as is, but love it more with peanut butter added to marshmellow mix before cornflakes. About 1/2 cup pb.
