Fresh Peach Sauce

- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- Dash ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup sliced peeled fresh peaches
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- In a small saucepan, mix sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg; stir in water until smooth. Add peaches; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir 2-3 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in extract. Serve warm.

I served this on top of waffles. Just enough sweet. I did not add the almond extract due to preferences. Would love to try it on vanilla ice cream!

Super yummy sauce! Of course anything with fresh peaches is going to be delicious :) I didn't use the almond extract.

I didn't have any fresh peaches, so I used frozen and just cut back on the water. We ate this over pancakes and my son kept asking for more!

With extra water and 2 cups of peaches, this came out lovely, but the amount of cornstarch the recipe calls for would be way too much for 1 cup of peaches. We ate it over dutch babies.

Great summertime dessert. Double the recipe as it won't be enough. This is a quick, simple dessert.

Going to try this with a spice cake that I make my husband for his birthday... sounds yummy!
