Easy Sauteed Green Beans
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Place beans and water in a large skillet. Bring to a boil; cook covered until beans are crisp tender, 4-6 minutes. Drain.
- In now empty skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add beans; cook and stir until beans are tender, 1-2 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Simple fast and easy. My husband prefers green beans cooked down and simmered. I like them like this also.

Basic method helps fresh green beans to shine. We enjoyed this simple dish with other dishes with higher flavor profiles so it was perfect...didn't compete...just good!
