I made this following the recipe to a T, since I don't care much for peas I was just making it for my husband and he absolutely loved it. I am really glad because this is an easy recipe and it tastes similar to win my mother used to make it. Even with this I still don't care much for peas LOL

Why is this listed under "low carb" recipes? Not even close to being low carb!

This is a great basic recipe. However, I like to slice and caramelize onions and garlic in brown sugar, then add the other ingredients. And instead of flour, which makes it taste pasty, I mix a really big tablespoon on cornstarch in with the milk. It thickens it up much better than flour. Bring it to a boil and let it sit for a minute and serve it over mashed sweet potatoes.

These were pretty tasty. I think it could have possibly used just a tad more sugar, but perhaps the peas I had just weren't the sweet kind. I'd make this side dish again (it was very easy), but maybe try to tweak the sauce just a tad.

We loved this. The only thing I did differently was not precook the peas. I defrosted them completely and then added them when the white sauce had thickened.

I've never enjoyed sweet peas so much! The ease of the recipe was a big bonus. Used F/F half and half instead of milk and it worked just fine.

I got this recipe in a TOH book. I've been making this for many years. My husband loves it when I make it. His favorite meal is creamy meatloaf, homemade mashed potatoes, and these yummy peas. I also make a blueberry cobbler for dessert.
