I used to make this same snack using chow mein noodles instead of cereal, but lately whenever I buy chow mein noodles they are rancid. Doesn't matter whether they're in a can or a bag - always rancid. Maybe the makers of these things might take a hint and use different oils or whatever they use to make them, but don't count on any changes because those companies tend to use the cheapest of ingredients. I will try the bran flakes.

I have made these a number of times for my parents who are watching their weight. It is a great, quick and easy recipe that you don't have to feel guilty about eating! Plus, the fiber cereal makes them a hearty snack that will prevent over eating them. The chocolate and peanut butter-- who doesn't love that great combo! I do not use a reduced fat peanut butter. I have also added nuts to these treats.

These are yummy, a little too much peanut butter for me, though!:) I added some wheat germ and used dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate for a healthy improvement.
