Ree Drummond is a powerhouse. Originally known for her wildly popular food blog that she parlayed into a hit cooking show on the Food Network, Drummond has also expanded her Pioneer Woman empire to include a cookware line, a mercantile store, boutique hotel and pizzeria in the small town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, a location often featured on her show. She has, or course, released her fair share of cookbooks, too! In fact, she’s slated to release another one in 2019. But she’s putting a spin on this new offering.
What makes this Pioneer Woman cookbook different
In a recent blog post, Ree revealed that her next book is set to come out in October 2019 (put that one on next year’s Christmas list!). But she said there’s something different about this one. She posed a question to her readers: “What would you like to see in the next PW cookbook?”
That’s right, Ree is letting readers guide her as she pens her next book. She said there are a few things to keep in mind: “My number one goal when I put out a new cookbook isn’t making sure it has commercial appeal, or winning a culinary award or appearing on morning shows or creating a piece of art,” she wrote. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that stuff! … My number one goal when I write a cookbook is that people will use it.”
“I’m getting ready to jump in and start the fun,” The Pioneer Woman continued. “But as I’m organizing thoughts and recipe ideas, I wanted to include you in the brainstorm by asking, in a nutshell: What would you like to see in the next PW cookbook?”
So what do you say?
Ree’s post is open for comments, and so far more than 1,200 fans have weighed in.
“I would love to see some low carb, lighter dishes,” one fan commented. “Also instant pot/crockpot meals would be good. Please, please include the ranch stories and pictures, I love those as much as the recipes!” said another (psst… check out our Instant Pot recipes while you wait on Drummond’s take).
One thing we do know: There likely won’t be any recipes featuring bananas! Can’t wait for the new cookbook to come out? Try Ree Drummond’s favorite potluck dishes in the meantime.
